Where the clothes come from

Grace Guides shows real garment photography. It does not show prices, stock or links, and this page says why.

What the products we studied do

One of them stores background-removed retailer product shots on its own CDN, keyed by retailer id and SKU, and composes outfit boards from them. Tapping a garment does not open the product: it opens a text search on the retailer’s site built from the garment’s name. No SKU, no affiliate tag. We checked one – a blazer listed at $109.00 – and the search returned a different blazer at $47.94.

Why they do it that way

A SKU link would 404 once the item is delisted. Searching by name degrades quietly, so a frozen scrape keeps looking alive. Their own fine print says they are “not affiliated with or endorsed by the brands”, which addresses trademark confusion and does nothing about copyright in the photographs.

What we would do instead

• Take a product feed from an affiliate network rather than scraping, so the images are licensed and the price and stock are live.
• Hot-link the feed’s image. Never copy a retailer’s photograph onto our own CDN.
• Hide any row older than 48 hours, out of stock, or with no sizes left.
• Show the price with the time it was read, so staleness is visible rather than silent.

We hold no affiliate agreement, so we have no feed and nothing to sell. The garments in this build are licensed photographs used as illustrations of a palette. No prices, no stock, no links.
